Sopa de Letras features artists that have graduated from the Latino Artist Mentorship Program (LAMP). This exhibition highlights the intersection of culture and identity of queer Latino artists living in Indiana. Through drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, and mixed media, these artists explore themes of identity, belonging, and culture through their lived experiences.
What does it look like to be a Latino queer person in the Midwest? And how do we see cultural influences reflected in the artists’ work?
The Fonseca-DuBois Gallery powered by Arte Mexicano en Indiana is the premiere gallery in Indianapolis with a focus on social justice. We uplift the creativity of the oppressed to uplift their visions to wide and diverse audiences. We typically supplement our art opens with workshops to foster the creativity for Indianapolis workers. Together, we are unleashing the creativity of the masses. Come be a part of the creative community we are building!
